The average woman applies most of her makeup for work. This is the face you've got to be able to master and execute every day, maybe on your way to work in some sort of moving vehicle! When you're heading to work, keep your look balanced and subtle: you want to look confident, conscientious and together.

1. Start with a cleansed, toned and moisturized face (and don't forget the sunscreen!)
2. Pat concealer under your eyes and on top of blemishes.
3. Using your foundation brush, apply foundation.
4. Choose two colors from your makeup palette for your eyes: one that is almost the same shade as your skin, and another that is a shade or two darker.
5. Using a makeup brush, sweep the lighter shade of eye makeup from the inner corner of your eyes to halfway across your lids on both sides.
6. Accentuate the corners of your eyes with the darker shade, blending the darker eye makeup on the outside corners of your top lid, and 2/3 of the way across your bottom lid.
7. Line your eyes with a brown eyeliner, all the way across the top of your lashes and from the outside in towards the inside corner of your eyes.
8. Blend your eye makeup until you can't see any lines between the colors
9. Using your cheek brush, smile and apply a blush to the apples of your cheeks.
10. Curl your eye lashes.
11. Apply two coats of mascara,
12. Lightly fill in your lips with a medium shade of lip liner. Filling your entire lip in means you can drink coffee and go to lunch without having to overhaul your makeup every day!
13. Over the top of your lip liner, apply and blot a moisturizing lipstick or subtle gloss.
14. Using a large powder brush, lightly dust your face with a translucent powder to set and finish your look.

Now that you've got the basics, let's try for a more dramatic look! Two classic dramatic faces are the smoky eye and full-on lips. Use these looks to add a bit of drama, when you want to emphasize your favorite feature. But remember, if you play one feature up, it's important to keep the other one subtle, so people know where to look.
